Pros
Silent, 2 years warranty, good price
Cons
Nothing
Good drive, I use in my NAS after I lost one drive. The rebuild complete perfectly. The drive comes now with 2 years of warranty. Good deal.
Pros
Price/size
Cons
None
I am quite happy with this hdd. It is doing its job.
Pros
Its 3TB of storage
Cons
a little louder than most 3TB HDDs
All in all its a great chunk of storage. Mine is still running, though I can hear when it starts up or when stuff is being written to it.
Pros
Large Size
Cons
Failure rate is HIGH
I would not buy this drive unless you only need 2 years out of it. I bought two for my NAS and they BOTH failed just outside of the 2 year warranty. I will never buy Seagate again. Their failure rate is in my case is 100%
Pros
I have several of these 3TB drives working in karaoke KOD equipment with no problems.
Cons
So far, no problems encountered.
Recommended.
Pros
Bought on sale for around $108. Decent size at 3TB. Running cooler than my WD Blacks. I haven't found them to be too loud. Seem fast.
Cons
Sale price should be regular price or cheaper. I'm worried about reliability from history.
Needed some space. Bought these Seagate 3TB's. So far they are cool, quiet, and fast. Couldn't ask for more other than they last for a while.
Pros
Fast.
Good value.
Cons
Short life.
My first Seagate drive and sadly it's failing in the first month after warranty ended (during 25th month). A bit frustrating given I have old IDE drives from 2002 still running. On a positive note it's still working, albeit slowly, and I should be able to transfer data to a new drive.
Pros
- Very easy to install.
- 3 TB's!! never will run out of storage.
- Cheap! (Got it on sale)
Cons
- Some reviewers have problems in the first months of using this HDD.
Fast for a standard HDD, I use this storage for games, pictures, and music! very nice for the price.
Pros
Bang for buck a $109CAD on sale. Quiet!
Cons
Like any other spinning HD, can go any moment and with big storage, you will lose a lot of data.
I tested the HTPC I wanted to use on an old 750gb 7200rpm Seagate. It worked great with Ubuntu 14.04 on it - my only complaint was that it was loud. I was able to hear the platters spinning on the HD even on a simple operation, like opening up a browser. After putting this drive on it, the only noise I can hear is the fan every once in a while. Even though, I've used the drive for less than a week, I am very happy with this purchase. Will re-evaluate in a year or so.
Pros
- Great value for price
- solid performance
Cons
- noise
Using this for storage on my home server. No issues yet. A little noisier than others, but doesn't bother me
