Note: If you have seen my review somewhere else, I am not trying to spam. I want to warn as many people as possible and I want to teach Asus a lesson that putting a crappy cooling system in their laptops is NOT ok.
I'm not writing a full review on this, I just want to warn people so they don't make the same mistake I did. I'll try to be quick and to the point.
First issue I have is heat issues. While playing War Thunder on the high preset at 1080p, the CPU gets to 94C and the GPU gets to 83C. I got the heat sync replaced and the laptop cleaned out but it didn't solve the heat issues.
Second issue I have is there is integrated graphics (Intel HD Graphics) and discrete graphics (Nvidia). I understand why they have both (to be able to switch between them for battery life) but there is some flaws with this. You cannot disable the Intel HD Graphics because of technology on it called Nvidia Optimus. This can cause many problems, some people have had problems where games use the integrated graphics instead of the discrete, adaptive v-sync cannot be enabled and so on.
This is a good laptop overall but just has those issues that I mentioned before.
-Laptop was plugged in the whole time during test
-Temperatures measured using HWMonitor

Nice screen, fairly good for gaming
Windows 8 bootup is so slow, had to fresh install windows Case will have finger prints when touched.
Picked this up for my friend who travels and games. Only complain was windows 8 bootup was so slow, probably 10 minutes. Did a fresh install, and it was booted in seconds. Probably because too many apps and Asus programs installed. For people who cares about the aesthetics of the case, just beware, finger prints will be on it if touched.
Incredibly fast in all regards, beautiful screen
Case is finger magnet; runs a bit warm when gaming
Picked this up to replace my 2010 Asus P50IJ which had loads of trouble playing games from 2000. Never owned a Nvidia graphics card before so I was looking forward to comparing the laptop to my desktop which has an Asus HD6850 card in it. Well yesterday I finally got around to loading up my most intensive 3d game, Trainz 12 and I was blown away. Not only did the game load quicker, but the game looked awesome and ran with far fewer stutters (TS12 is know for stutters). Even my wife was stunned when she walked in and looked at it, just incredible. The LT came with 8.1 which I was unsure of, but after playing with it a bit I am sold; I love 8.1, it blows 7 out of the water, people just need to get use to it. The only real cons are the case, which just sucks up finger oils and so far I have been unable to get the text to look crisp, but that may be my fault though I have tried the text adjustments in windows. Once the high end video card kicks in the LT pumps out a bit of heat but my cooling pad easily deals with that. Very happy with this LT, I can't see using my desktop anymore that is for sure.
