Pros
Goes on sale often, some nas features from enterprise drives.

Cons
None as of yet.

Summary

No Cons - out of the retail box, shipping blocks removed, drive carriages snapped on, drives installed into NAS, plugged in and away it went

Pros
Works fine in my QNAP NAS. No issues.

Cons
None

Summary

Works as advertised. I bought two for my QNAP NAS, plugged them in. No issues.

Pros
There's not a lot of "pro's" to list. The transfer rates are similar to most drives of this capacity. The price is just above mid-range so the only thing I can for sure that is a "pro" is the warranty.

Cons
None so far.

Summary

Drives work great. Transfer speeds are slightly faster than the WD Green's I am replacing and the warranty is better. The power consumption is just a little more than the Green's, but noise is ~the same. Not much to add. Purchased as capacity upgrade and extra warranty length.

Pros
size size size

Cons
a bit expensive at regualr price

Summary

This is one of the better 4tb out there in the market. come with 3 year warrenty and is easy to install. Speed is not bad, although not as fast as ssd, but still good enough for everyday usage. Size is plentyful. The downside i guess would be the price, which is a little steep. And if it could come with 5 years warrenty, that would be even more recommended.

Pros
Fast enough, reliable, The size, price, warranty and purported NAS resiliency. very large capacity. 7200 RPM, long warranty

Cons
don't have any confidence that these drives will last a long time.

Summary

Reading through the reviews it seems Seagate had a batch or two that had a high degree of DOAs. When I first ordered the drive, it was DOA as well. Worked with Seagate for the replacement (they ship to you first if you choose) and the new drive is working as expected in my NAS setup.

Pros
works great. 3 year warrenty.

Cons
nothing

Summary

3 year warrenty. Easy to install. Fast. No need to mess with jumpers. Low power usage ! I put mine in my WHS v1. Acer Aspire. Had to use a trick to add the drive (2TB), then stop services, copy files off drive, deleve partition, gpt partition, format make 4TB, hack registry to add new device/GPT ID. copy files back, restard service. You can find full instructions on google. Anyways my WHS now has over 4TB storage (4TB plus 2x1TB)

Pros
Fast, none was doa, consistent performance

Cons
None so far...

Summary

Bought 4 of these to install in a Synology DS412+. All four were in good condition and working fine since the beginning. Getting 110-120 mo/s in read and 100-105 mo/s in write when paired with this NAS model. First time with Seagate!

Pros
Good TB/$ ratio

Cons
Non yet

Summary

Works well in my TS-212 with TimeMachine. The bottleneck is the TS-212 CPU.

Pros
Huge capacity, built specifically for NAS

Cons
Expensive, paying bit of premium for NAS technology on these drives. Would have been better if they offer 5 year warranty specifically for these NAS drives to show that they have more than the standard 3 year of confidence behind their products.

Summary

Purchased one from NCIX for my NAS storage, got a pair in total and running in RAID 1, so far so good, runs quiet and cool. Be sure to research first and install on a motherboard that supports GPT partition. If it is under Windows 7 or above, it will give you two options to initialize, GPT or MBR, MBR will not address more than 2TB.

Pros
Good price on sale (175). All tests on two have gone without issue. Reasonable temps (39C) when doing full surface scans in dock with no cooling. Three year warranty (checked) which is normal for a drive of this type.

Cons
The usual couple of strange results in testing - par for the course with all Seagates. Raw Read error rate and Seek Error Rate show high numbers with all of my Seagates. It has not been an issue in long term use with all other Seagate drives.

Summary

I got these drives because of sale price, and because they are different to my other 4T drives. (In case a line of drives is found to have catastrophic failure or firmware issues.). They will be used for off-line backup, with a parity drive protection, and to allow checking for integrity. So, not a useful review in terms of people intending to use the drives for their intended purpose in a NAS box.
